Ghost Employees

A 'ghost' employee is a nonexistent employee for whom payroll checks are issued and cashed.
Ghost employees can be created by a supervisor at a location away from head office, by an imaginative personnel employee, or indeed an actual person who has been made redundant but for whom personnel had not stopped the cheques for.
 

Ghost employees can cost companies a lot of money and annual checks should be carried out.
